They pass power down within the ruling families, just as Aristocratic counts, baron, and lords passed their position and power down to following generations. The CCP has recreated the old aristocracy of China. Although it actually looks like European aristocracy to my eyes.

  2. FYI coup d'tat is pronounced "coo-Day-tah"...No "p" sound Coup is pronounced coo, as well, with no "p" sound. It comes from the French, who don't pronounce a lot of consonants.
