Mr. Moran, your videos are quite compelling in the positions you take. You articulate your reasoning very well. I find you convincing. Like many, I had thought the Sherman to be a poor tank. After listening to you, I now believe it was an excellent tank. I am glad you put to bed the idea that they were death traps. I think one reason they got that rep was because so many tankers survived, but bitched about their horrifying escape from death. I have now noticed on other videos, where tankers are talking about their experiences in one campaign or another, that they will say that they had several tanks they were in destroyed. They just kept getting new tanks to fight in. Well, they couldn't be doing that if they didn't survive. Now could they?? Your point about its sloped armor is also good. Then only thing that is wrong with the Sherman is that Ordnance reacted to battlefield situation, and did not predict well what was going to be needed. So, they would figure the Sherman needed an upgrade only AFTER losses in the field. That seemed to be a pattern. Keep up the good work.

For me, another obvious question that is NEVER addressed is.... WHY DIDN'T GERMANY AND JAPAN COORDINATE IN A COMMON ANTI RUSSIAN STRATEGY????? Japan had a northern and a southern strategy option ...it chose the southern- taking on the US. Japan could have taken the Northern strategy, and taken on Russia. If Japan and Germany had attacked Russia together --- 1. The US would not have been pulled into the war. 2. Russia's defeat would have been much more likely. 3. Japan could have established a very hard to interdict supply of oil from conquered Russia. 4. Germany would have all the resources it needed from conquered Russia. 5. Japan would not have needed the resources of Indo-China and Dutch East Indies, so US not drawn to war. What other benefits? What problems with this strategy?? Now, the Axis powers never acted like allies. No coordination of goals, and military operations. So, this may not have been possible. If not, why not??? Russia was already invaded in summer '41, so why not attack Russia from the back?
