I have my own theory of why French sounds like it does. Ever notice how French words have so many extra letters??? Well, I think all those letters were once pronounced. BUT, the French drank a lot of wine, and were always drunk. So, they slurred their words for a few centuries, until the stopped pronouncing all those letters. If you listen closely, you can hear it. French is Latin spoken by a drunk. And, that is my theory of the French started speaking French. Go ahead, prove me wrong.

I have my own theory on why French sounds like it does. Look at the spelling of French words -- lots of letters that are NOT pronounced. Why not??? Those letters were once pronounced -- but not now. WHY??? Simple, the French DRINK a lot of wine. In the past, their continuous drunken stupor made them slur their words. So, letters and whole syllables got dropped. That is why French people sound the same whether drunk or sober. You might dismiss my conclusion, but you CANNOT deny the logic.

I heard Latin has 3 genders. Is that right??? How can you have 3?? Male, Female, ...then what???

What about our ability to create new words so easily...and I mean words that already sound ancient. For instance..."copacetic" sounds like it comes from old latin or greek. But, it is a slang word from Chicago, and means OK. But, we could take almost any combination of syllables from latin and greek and make up words. In fact they do that all the time when they name dinosaurs. Well, my question is...do other languages have that same ease?? Or, is that special to English???
