@nickbarton3191 Most states are bigger than England. Going to another state is not always feasible or affordable. Besides, what if the state next door also bans abortions. For instance, if you are in Texas, going to Oklahoma or Louisiana won't help.

If you read the history of Europe, you will find great military leaders from many countries. The many generals of the Roman Empire. Charlemagne & Napoleon of France. Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. Jan Zizka of Bohemia, Frederick the Great of Prussia, and so many others. What I find missing are great Russian generals. Russian generals are very free with the lives of their soldiers -- using tactics that ensure their deaths. Russia generals have always behaved like Russia had too many people, and didn't mind killing many of them. Looking at Putin's army, it seems incompetent on so many levels. It seems the leaders have no concept of how wars are fought and won. Case in point -- look at Putin's mobilization and the assumptions it seems to be based on. The idea that he can conscript unwilling citizens and send them into battle with little training shows monumental ignorance and stupidity. He will only send them to their deaths. I do not think the Russian military leaders know much better.

@paulcrist7285 Yes. I saw that on a YouTube video. It really happened. Talk about tragic comedy.

@paulcrist7285 In the 1980's no politician or general was scared of the USSR. In the Vietnam War, the USSR was a non-factor. There was concern, hence the making of the M1 tank to counter any possible threat to NATO in Europe. Carter sent Viper missiles to Afghanistan, where Russia was mired. b As stupid and bad as the Vietnam War was, it proved the USSR was not a global military player.

@irinasmith9360 Napoleon was defeated by winter, and his own hubris. Russia never defeated him in battle. Russia lost the battle of Borodino.
1
@irinasmith9360 Please, pretty please, name one, just one, battle where Russia won by efficient use of mobility and surprise. Go ahead, name me just one. I challenge you.
1
@irinasmith9360 One more requirement -- the Russian general must have fewer casualties than his enemy in his victory.
1
@irinasmith9360 And your source is?? Russia I bet. Ukraine says 57,000 Russian troops. US CIA says 70,000+ Russian troops died. Russia says about 6,000 died - which is obviously ridiculous. Do you also believe that Russia is winning?
1
@irinasmith9360 BTW --- if you include the Ukraine deaths from Russian shelling of residential areas, the torture/killing of civilians, and the abduction of Ukrainians and taking them to Russia to do who knows what --- then your numbers may be correct.
1
@irinasmith9360 BTW - are you Russian?
1
@irinasmith9360 You seem to have a pro-Russian bias. Russia has a long history of controlling media -- from Tsarist days, through Stalin, to today. It has the tradition and the instruments for that. Right now, Russian media is without merit, since it says Ukraine is run by Nazis - which is asinine. Zelensky is Jewish. Plus, Ukraine suffered greatly under the Nazis. Ukraine lost as many, or more, people than Russia SSR did. Therefore, if you accept Putin propaganda, you are very misled.

The fact that the Al Aqsa Mosque still stand serene and unharmed surprises me. The Romans destroyed the Jewish temple. I believe Christian Rome replaced the Temple of Jupiter that was there, and the Muslims then destroyed the Christian church there, and built the Al Aqsa Mosque. Since Muslims have proved themselves impossible to live with there, why should the Israelis keep it?

@ProphetMohammed-69BBC What mess? No one would notice.

Republicans ignore rain in a thunderstorm, and claim blue skies.
