  1. You talk like Ireland is a poor country. It is doing quite well. If Sweden can afford first rate aircraft, then so can Ireland. Since they are facing the Russians, the Irish need the latest radars, avionics, and communications. That leaves the Saab Gripon, Rafale, or the F-18. I don't think they need the F-35, but that is also a possibility. Getting old planes off the used fighter lot, is absurd.
