  1. You forget, Russia's Pacific fleet is based at Vladivostok, which in the Japan Sea. The Russian fleet would be bottled up with the Tsushima strait, and the other straits being blocked. So, Russia's navy would be a total non-factor in a conventional war. India/US could make it a long run stalemate, during which time the Chinese economy would collapse. The longer the war, the the deeper the collapse. In all likelihood, the CCP would not survive the war. .

  6. Another thing I notice, is that when Euros come to the US, they nibble around at the edges, going to coastal towns like Boston, New York, and Miami. They might go to the other coast and visit LA or San Francisco. They rarely get to the hinterland - Chicago, Minneapolis, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Colorado, etc. I think they are afraid of being swallowed by the size of the US.

  9. Its impossible to compare France and India. India's army and navy are larger. While, France's is more advanced. However, their threats are different. Overall, I would put India over France since it is a larger nation, and will likely be better able to sustain its military during a long conflict.

  10. Finally, a video that shows that an invasion of Taiwan would certainly fail. However, I still feel that the video gives much optimistic scenario for the CCP. I doubt ANY forces would ever reach and land on Taiwan. I doubt ANY invasion ships would survive. Taiwan has THOUSANDS of the HF-2 and HF-3 missiles. The HF-3 can reach 500 miles. I think Shanghai, and all the cities along the coast from Taiwan would be pummeled with hundreds of missiles each. ALSO --- maritime trade to/from China would cease, destroying China's economy.

  14. The depicted invasion of Taiwan is idiotic 1. Taiwan has 2000+ anti-ship missiles, HF-2, HF-2e, and HF-3. They will take out over 100 Chinese ships. 2. As Ukraine shows -- Surface to Air Missiles (SAMs) are the main defense against air assault. Taiwan has thousands of them, too. Remember -- Taiwan makes the MOST advanced microchips. Raytheon, Lockheed, and Boeing use them in the missiles we use. Taiwan's missiles are not jokes. The real question is -- when Taiwan destroys China's invasion in the first five days, WHAT will the US Navy need to do?? By the time our navy gets there, China will be defeated.

  19. Lot has happened since 2018. China is isolating itself, as countries around the world respond to its aggression and bullying. I think the next superpower will be India. Brazil has the population, but not much else. China rose to power on its economy. Now that China has moved to using its military, it will lose its economic power. For Brazil to become a power, it has to have a stronger economy. What Brazilian companies dominate the world??? Or, are ever impressive??? None comes to mind. However, if world power was determined by how the beauty of its women, then Brazil would rule the world.

  23. True, the carrier and carrier group are NOT invulnerable. However, if China or Russia ever did that --- 1. They would only get one or two carrier groups in their area. 2. That would be WAR, of course. Our attack subs would sink their subs and surface fleet within days, I believe. 3. For China, maritime trade would cease or be sunk. China's export economy would come to a crashing halt. 4. China's SCS islands would be destroyed. 5. China's air force would be destroyed on the ground by B2 strikes. 6. I suspect that the Navies electronic warfare is better able to misdirect and neutralize both China and Russia missiles more than we are allowed to know. 7. Both China and Russia are noted for NOT maintaining their weapon systems. I suspect the failure rate of their "advanced" weapons will be high. 8. Both China and Russia will need both money and time to develop the stores of advanced missiles to achieve the results presented in the video. 9. The US has a much deeper munitions industry to resupply munitions as they are used. When the war moves into its slogging phase, the nation that has the greater industrial base will like win. I don't think Russia or China would have a chance. Both would be insane to attack the US.

  24. This assumes that involvement by the US will be required, and that there be time for the US to get involved. It takes time for a navy to get into position. By that time, Taiwan will have sunk most of the ships, especially the troop ships, of the Chinese invasion force. The US navy would be useful though, in counting the dead Chinese PLA in the water.

  27. The Himalayas make a land war between China/Russia and India as a draw. Neither side would be able to send armies with enough power to invade the other. Therefore, such a war becomes a naval conflict. US/India would eliminate China's & Russia's Pacific fleets, IMO. The loss of China's maritime trade would destroy China's economy. China/Russia would lose. Simple as that.

  29. There is way too much oil that can be pumped out, than can ever be used. Ask yourself --- "How do they know how may barrels of oil are in continental shelves that have not be drilled yet?" Answer is simple -- oil deposits were laid down mostly during Global Anoxic Events in the Mesozoic. The Earth became very hot from excess CO2, and the oceans became anoxic (without oxygen). All life below about 25 ft in the oceans died. Animals that died near the surface, dropped down, decayed anoxically, and oil deposits were formed. Eventually, enough CO2 was taken out of the air, so that ocean currents started up again, and oceans became oxygenated. This happened many times. Each time leaving more oil deposits. That is why oil deposits are on continental shelves, or land that was under water in the Mesozoic. That is why oil companies know there are oil deposits in the Arctic or the South China Sea or off the coast of Brazil without doing ANY drilling. Sure, they have to find it, but they know its there. Just like they knew there was likely to be oil in the Mediterranean Sea (the old Tethys Sea), making Israel an oil state. We are pumping, using, and burning the carbon nature sequestered to end the Global Anoxic Events of the past. They are associated with extinction events. NO, we will NEVER run out of oil. We might run out of food, and livable conditions, but we will NEVER run out of oil.

Our planes would seeking and killing their planes. Their bases would be attacked and destroyed. Pearl Harbor was a great success for the Japanese--- how did that work out for them? Military might is not just one weapon system. And one battle sucess does not mean victory.

Do you really think US, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan would not be firing their missiles? 3.   38. Why will the new world order look like the post WW2 world order??? Simple, almost all countries benefitted from it. China's attacks on the current order -- especially by its rapacious fishing fleets that flout the NCLOS designation of the EEZ's of countries around the world -- have frightened and angered many nations. The idea that China might be allowed to go even further is too scary. Countries will oppose China, especially if the US leads in the opposition. Many countries have problems with the US, and oppose its policies in specific areas. However, China's attack on the world order is so profound, and so threatening to world peace and trade, that those issues will be put aside. I have noticed the idea of an Indo-Pacific Alliance grow in recent years. Two or three years ago, the idea was not even mentioned. I am not sure, but I may have been the first to propose it on YouTube. (I know I had not seen it.) But, now, the idea is talked about. China has even made threats concerning it, which means they are scared of the idea. As China continues its threats in the SCS, the felt need for an IPA will grow. Unless China changes its attitude (unlikely), I see the creation of an Indo-Pacific Alliance as being inevitable. By 2025, if not sooner.

  39. This is fiction. BUT, if it did happen, that would mean war. The entire US military around the world would respond Any and ALL Chinese assets and bases would be destroyed. The Chinese base in Djibouti would be destroyed. The Chinese islets in the SCS would be destroyed. The Chinese Navy would be destroyed --- the SGBM subs would release their 154 Tomahawks on the Chinese fleet, sinking most of them. More missiles would target their shipyards and docks. Others would target their airfields. Their first strike would likely be successful. Our counter strike would definitely be successful.

Then, when the war is over, it will claim victory, and accuse the US of being violent and warlike. It will accuse the US of hurting its BRICS partners. It will say how mean and nasty we are.   47. The future will be drones - pilotless craft. These will come in all sizes. Many will be able to be carried on smaller vessels, like destroyers, and even frigates. Missiles will become more advanced, so frigates, destroyers, and missile cruisers will become more lethal, and thus more important. Although new weapons will make things more difficult to protect military assets -- new counter measures, defensive technology, and beam weapons will make the success of attacks more risky, too.

They show the amphibious assault to be pretty easy. China is able to land troops unopposed, and then supported after landing. Ridiculous. 1. China's troop ships will not likely survive the 2000+ anti-ship missiles that Taiwan has. 2. IF China is able (by some miracle) to land troops on Taiwan, they will not likely be able to \ land supplies and replacements to support the landings. If not -- the landings will still fail. Ukraine has showed that air dominance is hard to establish in this missile happy world.

  53. The Himalayan mountains makes usage of helicopters marginal. Attack aircraft like the A-10, which has a service ceiling of 45,000 ft much more useful. I suspect this is a reason why India has few attack helicopters. On the other hand, if they were to fight Pakistan, then AH-64s would be great to have.

  54. One more thing...these missiles typically carry a warhead from 300lb to 1000lb. Carriers are HUGE. A single 1000lb bomb would not sink it. It probably would have little operational effect. Multiple hits would be requited to even slow it down. Many hits required to sink it, IMO. Meanwhile, all our military assets in the region would be responding - all doing a variety of missions -- sweeping the Chinese navy and all merchant and fishing vessels from the sea - destroying the artificial islands -- jamming their communications -- knocking their communication satellites out/ or jamming them - etc. BTW ... our carriers and support ships have glass fiber wiring to protect against EMP attacks.

  57. It is true that carriers are vulnerable. All weapon systems, bases, and countries are vulnerable. The question is not "can a foe sink our carriers?"... The question is "can a foe tolerate or even survive the US response?" For instance, say China attacks an American fleet in the SCS and sinks a carrier. What would the US do?? I think the US would then respond swiftly, with swarms of missiles attacking and sinking China's naval ships worldwide. China's bases in the SCS would be obliterated - not a crab or seashell left intact. Any Chinese air force planes outside of China's air space would be shot down. A full blockade would be put on China -- not ship, not a boat, not a raft being allowed out or in. How long would China's economy last with that?? If China EVER attacks and sinks an American ship, it will be destroyed. However, Xi and the CCP act as if they think everyone is weak and cowardly. So, Xi and the CCP just might start a war somewhere, with somebody.

  58. You failed to account for or analyze the impact of combat support vessels and logistics. The American carrier does NOT fight alone - it is always part of a task force, which will include a Ticonderoga cruiser, 1 or 2 Burke Destroyers, an Attack class nuclear submarine, and supporting supply and logistics ships. Moreover, a Carrier Strike Group may be augmented with additional carriers, cruisers, and destroyers and subs to make an adequate response to ANY threat. So, if one CSG is not enough to take out the Chinese navy, then it will be expanded until it can do the task. It will be 20 to 30 years before China has that ability. However, I do expect it to have that ability -- someday. But, NOT today.

  61. Sorry, but the real weapons development is not in things that go "BOOM". Weapons development is about electronics -- ECM, ECCM, and ECCCM. etc. The primary defense against incoming missiles is NOT anti-anti-ship missiles. It is in Electronic Counter measures that will send the incoming missile off course, and explode harmlessly. Of course, some missiles come with ECCM to counter ECM. But, then more sophisticated ECM will have ways to counter ECCM. It is a never ending spiral.

  62. Greatest conqueror ever?? HUH?? Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, and Napoleon were all greater. How about Cyrus the Great? The Muslim world had some great conquerors, too. Julius Caesar's conquests were too narrow and limited. He was not even CLOSE to being the best Roman conqueror -- IMO, both Scipio Africanus and Marius were better.   65. The world trade order after WW2 was built and ensured by US and western Europe. The coming world trade order will be ensured by US, India, Western Europe, and Japan. Many minor powers, like Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, and others will follow their lead. Any country trying to upset that world order will find themselves isolated, and expelled from world trade (if they persist). The new world order will look like the Bretton Woods world of the 70 years, only the countries actively supporting it militarily will be slightly different.

  67. Weapon vs weapon analysis is silly, and very wrong, especially with carriers. 1. A carrier fights in a group, not by itself. You have to assess the Carrier Task Force, at the very least. 2. Nearby land based support must be considered. The air forces on Midway were important to Japan's defeat at that battle. Therefore, location of the battle would be significant. If held in the South China Sea, China would have the most nearby land support. Out in the Pacific, China would have no chance. 3. Power projection depends greatly on bases. America has bases all over the world, thus can support Carrier groups everywhere. China has limited areas where it can support combat.

  69. Depends on how you define "winning". Neither has the capacity to conquer the other. So, in a war, both would lose hugely. However, India has a major advantage in that all oil supplies to China through the Indian ocean would be stopped. So, China will need to get its oil from across the Pacific. Also, India's advanced Brahmos and other missiles were not mentioned. They greatly increase India's air and naval defense capacity.
