I think that Chinese activity and ambitions in the South Pacific have reached their zenith. The economic and banking problems of China are profound, and will reduce China's ability to project economic, and military power. China' money and market are not as attractive as it was until recently. The money is much less. Bigger impact is the fact that China is closing its market to outside investment and access. Xi's policies make me think that he and the CCP did not realize how much access to their market shaped the decision making of companies and countries. Xi seems to have thought that shutting off that access would have no impact. How wrong that is.
