  3. You say that the Iranian government won't collapse soon. However, the word "collapse" implies a sudden and unexpected event. The collapses of the Soviet Union, the Shah of Iran, and the Batista regime in Cuba were all unexpected and fast. When Iran's theocracy falls, I expect it will be unexpected and fast. It could happen in ten years, or tomorrow. But, I do believe it will happen.

  4. The resistance of the entrenched interests prevents small evolutionary changes. When change comes it will be catastrophic - a sudden and profound shift in power, with old institutions swept away. If only they were not so stubborn.
