  1. The American system of local tax support for police, fire, schools, streets, and sanitation will have unavoidable inequities. Wealthy communities will have great services, and poor ones not so much. Wealthy communities may not want to share. I see it as a rich/poor divide. In this case, there is a racial component, which makes it worse.

  4. If I was a retailer in SF, I would be moving -- even if I was in a great upscale area. Areas change.

  5. Historically, religions required a day of rest to ensure that people were not mistreated. People would get at least one day without working. Now a government wants to take that away?? I am Progressive. But,, this legislation requiring places to be open 7 days a week is regressive. I am NOT a Christian, or of any faith, BUT -- we have religious freedom (or I thought we did) and if Chick Fil A wants to stay closed on Sunday, that's OK with me. And, it should be OK with everyone.
