Sadly, the reality of limited funding puts different disciplines at odds with eachother rather than saying that perhaps we shouldn't give a hundred billion dollars to Israel to bury tens of thousands of Palestinian children under millions of tons of smoldering rebel instead research in anything that matters? I don't think researching stuff that's already been done, to further confirm or refute those results is not a bad idea if you have unlimited funding as the devil is in the details. However, Sabine is 100% right if you don't have access to confirmm every detail of a theory, then unfortunately hard decisions have to be made about what can best explore the greatest range of options. Until we prioritize research over murdering children, this will sadly be an issue that needs to be addressed, but perhaps we might want to consider murdering less children so there's more money to do both types of research?
