Harris is going to continue to support the mass slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian children. Voting Harris, is a vote to offshore jobs with "free trade", endless wars and the Israeli genocide in Gaza. I appreciate that Americans don't give a s*** when a bunch of brown people die, obviously It's how the country was built. However, when Israel eventually attacks Iran for no reason, other than keeping Netanyahu out of prison for corruption, they will blow up the infrastructure of oil in the middle East, causing the greatest spike of inflation the world has ever seen as the region burns!?! So, regardless of the fact that Americans don't give a s*** about all of the senseless murder of children that they pay for, they should actually give a s*** about the inevitable blowback of not just generations of people looking for vengeance, BUT more importantly, the inevitable monetary consequences of the policy of endless war inspired by the open RACISTS IN THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT. Specifically, even the LEAST PROBLEMATIC ISSUE being that the ENTIRE world not having access to cheap Saudi crude as iran will blow it up first is the WORLD'S PROBLEM?!?!

I think the most important thing is to remember, all of Biden's broken 2020 campaign promises like a $15 minimum wage, public option for healthcare, not to issue any oil drilling on federal lands(Let alone the most ever), fully funded infrastructure package rather than gutting it for corporate oil lobbyists, voting rights act for George Floyd, not putting refugees in cages let alone keeping Trump's border policies, not one more mile of Trump's border wall (yup billions more), making Saudi Arabia's MBS pay for the murder of TWO American journalists, cynically cancelling student debt in a way that he knew SCOTUS would stop in a way he could cynically send people back to the polls.
Once in government the DNC crushed the rail workers movement, forcing them back to work for the audacity of asking for a single day off?! continuing to ignore the Flint water crisis, also, let's not forget the absolute f**** tragedy that is East Palestine rail chemical disaster that the people there still continue to suffer from. Also, rather than trying to deal in a humane and sensible immigration reform, Biden totally capitulated to the far right view of further militarizing the border while not getting anything for people who've been in the country for decades, resolving nothing except to move the conversation towards the anti-immigration crowd. Expanding the military industrial complexes budget with zero accountability for the fact they don't know where the money went and expanding the nuclear Arsenal while dropping all of the non nuclear prolification agreements. Also, the DNC knew that she was such a weak candidate as well, that she would never, under any circumstances talk back or have any kind of spine or political beliefs whatsoever that could complicate their commitment to the donor class. More importantly, Kamala would n't have any shame whatsoever because she believes in nothing at all. The DNC had assembled the perfect team of ambition without ideology, an ability to change opinion on fundamental issues without a hint of shame and most importantly of all, a complete and total disregard for everyone except for themselves.
Obviously, the DNC knew that this would be extremely unpalatable to the American people, but Trump is the gift that keeps on giving! His total disregard for the norms which give the false pretense that Washington DC isn't just a total grift to extract $ from the working class while giving it to the 1% and ensuring that they never, under any circumstance, ever, pay any consequences for their incompetence, corruption and or complete and total criminality in terms of hundreds, if not millions of people's lives. Unfortunately, Trump's grotesque incompetence, paled in comparison to the DNC's choice to TWICE cheat the American people out of their ACTUAL legitimate choice Bernie Sanders & forced literally the worst neoliberalism corporate HACK of ALL TIME Corporate Joe in a desperate attempt to use Trump's incompetence to hide their total contempt for the working classes rejection of the Neoliberal agenda.

But what is downright goddamn hysterical is believing that Americans would have "their backs." LOL. America has screwed every single partner, it's ever had other than Britain. I'm starting to think a second Trump presidency might be in everyone's best interest?!?! Seriously. If Harris is elected then everyone gets to go back to brunch and pretend that democracy is ok. I'd say if Chomsky could pick a clip that embodies "manufacturing consent' (People have heard of it but it's free on YouTube and is probably one of the most important documentaries you'll never, ever watch LOL). This interviews is complete garbage from the DNC people paid to lie to you. If you are a Liberal, a soft introduction for accurate reporting, I'd start with Brianna Joy Gray's "Bad Faith Podcast' (She was Bernie Sanders communications director originally but they've fallen out over his support of Biden's neoliberal agenda) BJG has a little bit of everything, but always a genuine, thoughtful discussion of many different issues that are extremely difficult that never tells you what to think. Chris Hedges (* just absolutely f**** brilliant, sorry I just can't help myself. Even my favourites on this list are a bit repetitive but every time I see any Chris Hedges interview, it's always informative in new way on the same subject. Seriously.) Hedges was originally from the New York Times but was fired for accurately reporting on the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. He's gone on to report from every war-torn country in the world and continues to be one of the most considerate, thoughtful people in the entire world. The man actually speaks Arabic for f*** sake.
And yes of course Glenn Greenwald & before your Liberal mind groans, bare in mind that if he wasn't reviled by corporate media for reporting on many uncomfortable truths (especially for calling out corporate media!!!!), he has a journalistic trophy case that would place him literally in the top 5 of all time and still be competitive for #1. Arguably breaking some of the most important stories of our age, yes a multitude of EXTREMELY important journalism. Yeah, I know he sometimes plays footsies with the right-wing discourse but STILL does his journalistic due diligence in reviewing their particular concerns such as the total b***** that was Russia gate, the LIE that was the Hunter Biden laptop and other things that have been generally dismissed by the mainstream media but are actually true despite the seer campaigns. However sympathetic, it's never inaccurate but definitely friendly and @ times arguably glosses over certain facts to keep his Libertarian audience engaged. Still, he does call out Trump & Israel regularly which isn't financially a great choice but I think it's important that he does so, because it's the only way to get any information that is remotely accurate to those people and hopefully helps de-program them eventually . I don't like Brand's condescending humar, his pseudo spiritualistic made-up crap and or his libertarian, pseudo science or narcissism.
HOWEVER, either there's evidence and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law OR it should be illegal to smear a person based on anonymous accusations set to danger music. Two things can be true at the same time, Brand plays footsies with Rightwingers for clicks and is an exploitive dick AND he pissed off the elite so they potentially used disgruntled ex-girlfriends to call him out in possibly consensual (probably shitty but not necessarily illegal) relationships.
Being a manipulative self serving aggressive a-hole isn't necessarily illegal and conflating that with the legal definition of sexual assault or any other specific criminal sexual offences do a MASSIVE disservice to creating a culture that explains to ALL people that it's important to immediately report ALL sex crimes (Yes, all the reasons why people report late are completely 150% legitimate, but that doesn't change the facts that it makes it much more harder to convict. Also ,during the time he's not officially accused the perpetrator can more freely continue his assaults on other people and most importantly it allows victims to think that they can get justice "one day........"(*however, unless their perpetrator is an extremely disliked figure on the conspiracy right, that all of the establishment liberal media hates. Lastly, to be clear, again . I don't blame the victims for not reporting immediately. As previously outlined here, there are many, many legitimate reasons, why victims understandably are hesitant to come forward because they understand that the police are possibly useless, probably not going to believe them, even if they do believe them, they're not going to put any resources towards it, even if they do find evidence they are even more unlikely to process that evidence properly and even if they find the evidence & process it, there's still a decent chance due to crappy juries and or even worse lawyers, the perpetrator could still go free due to a victim's past or current problems which color a jury even though it has nothing to f**** do with the assault.
That's why it's extremely important to REPORT ALL CASES OF SEXUAL ASSAULT OR MISCONDUCT. REGARDLESS OF THE FACT IF YOU HAVE EVIDENCE OR NOT BUT PURELY BASED ON HOW THE SITUATION UNFOLDED . IT'S NEVER A BAD IDEA TO DISCUSS IT WITH A FRIEND OR SOMEONE YOU TRUST SO THAT YOU FEEL THE BEST YOU CAN UNDER A HORRIBLE CIRCUMSTANCE AS THERE IS LEGITIMATE REASONS TO NOT REPORT BECAUSE YOU DON'T FEEL PROTECTED AND YOU DON'T KNOW IF IT'S GOING TO MAKE THE SITUATION EVEN WORSE. SADLY, THE FACT IS IT'S IMPORTANT TO CONSIDER AND ADDRESS THIS PRIOR TO GOING TO AND UNDERFUNDED , UNDER RESOURCED, POLICE FORCE THAT DOES NOT WANT ANOTHER UNSOLVED CRIME ON THEIR BOOKS . Because even if you don't win that case due to a lack of evidence or bias in the system. It starts to build a body of evidence and back a pattern that cannot be denied. At that stage, the perpetrator either has to stop doing crimes which is not give you justice but at least saves other people and although it is deeply unfair, it is also extremely important to stop the cycle of violence. Also, if that person is so out of hand that they are incapable of stopping, you have put the first nail in their coffin and your braveness at reporting will diminish their reign of terror. The first report will be crucial in saving other people, especially those who might not be in a position to say anything for any number of reasons like being an extremely dangerous relationship or dangerous family members, refugees, or whatever vulnerable person out there, you just don't know the circumstances as predators seek those people out specifically. And so if you have the ability to say something, it's crucial to continue to build a culture that encourages people to says so.
Just to put a fine point on it, the reason that convicting Brand in a court of public opinion is bad is that it gives people like him a soapbox to say that he is being convicted without evidence of crimes that were not reported in an official and completed manner or that the jury pool is already poisoned before he got his trial...... We need to stop giving these f**** assholes that excuse and the only way to do that is unfortunately to throw out the cases that are not based on evidence. But more importantly, start communicating to our people that it is crucial not only for themselves, their society but every one to report sexual assault and or anything that is unacceptable. This builds a body of work that will eventually help other victims and most importantly to stop future victims.
If anybody has some feedback on this I would really appreciate it as I don't think I have all the answers by a long shot but I do have deep concerns about how not handling this extremely delicate situation with nuance and a long-term perspective could be dangerous for everyone involved.
However, I really do think that addressing this in a meaningful way is extremely important. I think the conservative far right weirdos are going to try to continue to weaponize this and my concern is that it's only going to take a couple cases where we find out later that the ladies lied to discredit someone in a their case, which will lead to everyone, everywhere is doing the same thing, which is super bad and will take a decade to fix if it's ever even possible to put that Genie back in the bottle.
Sadly, this is still extremely commonplace. It reveals that how we are dealing with it currently isn't working. My feelings are that we need to bring it even further out into the open through a culture that acknowledges that the problems are widespread much like other types of discrimination in the past.
As satisfying as putting brand in prison based on hearsay and vibes might be, it would set a precedent that would push back Justice for victims for decades and that's not worth putting one obnoxious douchebag in jail.

I'm starting to think a second Trump presidency might be in everyone's best interest?!?! Seriously. If Harris is elected then everyone gets to go back to brunch and pretend that democracy is ok. A Harris presidency would reward the DNC for being corrupt, breaking all its promises to the Left, kids still in cages, refugees dying at the border, failure on climate, failure on green infrastructure, failure on voting rights, failure on a public opinion, failure on police reform, failure on $15 min wage, failure to hold Saudi Arabia accountable, failure in Gaza, continuing to promote the proxy war against Russia, etc.....
However, if Trump is re-elected everyone will remember that children are still dying in detention, democracy is under direct threat, the world is burning and at least Trump says he would try to end the war in Ukraine (obviously Trump would nuke Ukraine for a nickel but the fact he even suggested peace is better than the DNC's current pro WW3 stance).
The reality is that we can boil the climate frog slow or fast but it's going to fry either way. If the fire is stoked purposely by the actual Left it, would tell the Corporate Democrats that breaking every promise has consequences or if we are really lucky, public awareness that the duopoly won't save us and force regular people to understand that after the Palestinians it could be the place that their families are from next. Also, the DNC knew that she was such a weak candidate as well, that she would never, under any circumstances talk back or have any kind of spine or political beliefs whatsoever that could complicate their commitment to the donor class. More importantly, Kamala would n't have any shame whatsoever because she believes in nothing at all. The DNC had assembled the perfect team of ambition without ideology, an ability to change opinion on fundamental issues without a hint of shame and most importantly of all, a complete and total disregard for everyone except for themselves.
Obviously, the DNC knew that this would be extremely unpalatable to the American people, but Trump is the gift that keeps on giving! His total disregard for the norms which give the false pretense that Washington DC isn't just a total grift to extract $ from the working class while giving it to the 1% and ensuring that they never, under any circumstance, ever, pay any consequences for their incompetence, corruption and or complete and total criminality in terms of hundreds, if not millions of people's lives.
Trump is the inevitable blowback to 40 years of neoliberalism brought to you by the DNC and they're failure to deliver the basics. If the party of "democracy" only manages to ever deliver a declining living standard. Then. I guess at some point they'll try the strong man and hope that maybe he delivers. I think the most important thing is to remember, all Biden's broken 2020 campaign promises like a $15 minimum wage, public option for healthcare, not to issue any oil drilling on federal lands(Let alone the most ever), fully funded infrastructure package rather than gutting it for corporate oil lobbyists, voting rights act for George Floyd, not putting refugees in cages let alone keeping Trump's border policies, not one more mile of Trump's border wall (yup billions more), making Saudi Arabia's MBS pay for the murder of TWO American journalists, cynically cancelling student debt in a way that he knew SCOTUS would stop in a way he could cynically send people back to the polls.
Once in government the DNC crushed the rail workers movement, forcing them back to work for the audacity of asking for a single day off?! continuing to ignore the Flint water crisis, also, let's not forget the absolute f**** tragedy that is East Palestine rail chemical disaster that the people there still continue to suffer from. Also, rather than trying to deal in a humane and sensible immigration reform, Biden totally capitulated to the far right view of further militarizing the border while not getting anything for people who've been in the country for decades, resolving nothing except to move the conversation towards the anti-immigration crowd. The neoliberal "middle" of both the center Left and Right that has destroyed the middle class through "free" trade deals that favor Corps over workers, corruption of government that protects the billionaires and of course foreign wars that destroy the economy while wasting precious resources that are needed at home is precisely why people chose populist authoritarian governments. There's nothing in that area in Russia that is relevant to Putun. Yes, it's an embarrassment but sacrificing the lives of so many Russian and Ukrainian soldiers just to make Putin feel sad seems not only ill advised but extremely stupid. There's nothing there that would give ukrainians any sort of bargaining chip or it would have already been protected and regardless it'll obviously be stamped out shortly as there's no way to maintain supply lines.
To me, it seems like they're just trying to get past the American election and to give the Democrats some wins on TV for people who are too stupid to understand the obvious truth that the ukrainians will never beat a nuclear-armed Russia with a vastly larger and well-armed Army regardless as to how many useless open fields it destroys or Russian villagers it butchers (I get that Russians have probably done the same war crimes but delivering back more of the same only helps Putin deliver the message that the Americans are coming to slaughter regular Russians and he is the only one to save them.)
