Most of those places have used oil and gas, natural resources to fund programs and tax for national companies that operate and extract wealth. But our governments, both liberal and conservative have never done that and both blame each other and keep giving out corporations while blaming the working class for 1 year for the stimulus checks.

  26. I get where you're coming from but I'm not sure how much you know about the Amazon rainforest? It's the literal lungs of The entire world and completely affects how the convection of air circulates from north to south. Have a look up on a documentary in terms of what it does as the largest carbon sink in the entire world and how the oxygen it provides is what's holding our world together, especially the ocean. About what you were suggesting though in terms of other things to be done as I think they should also happen. The fact is that Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, and on and on and on in terms of corporations that make massive profits in Canada and the world more broadly pay. Pay absolutely f**** nothing for their access while still enjoying the roads, education for their workers, health care for their workers, and on and on and on in terms of they enjoy but don't contribute to as they don't pay almost any taxes. You will end up with nothing (if you are lucky) and be renting for triple the rate from BlackRock as a result of Canada's liberal and conservative commitment to corporations and not Canadians. They gave some upper class tax cuts for soccer mom's, petty cruelty service cuts to the elderly, disabled and veterans (& of course the usual losers but that just makes them break into my stuff more) So I'm curious as to what you think electing a conservative government will do specifically for Us? As far as I know, everyone making less than $100,000 gets a carbon CHQ (I make over the cutoff so I have never seen a check. I'll actually get a tax break), once the cons are elected people won't get that anymore as the cons have said they're going to end many programs and they're going to slash government spending which generally means that you will be paying more for services while also not receiving the carbon chq anymore either? I've been studying politics as my hobby (I don't know what else to call it really as it's not what I get paid for and it serves no purpose LOL) but from my experience it's center left government who racks up debt inadequate social programs while always ensuring that large corporations don't pay too much taxes vs Conservative government that wants to slash government services and corporate taxes which also drives up debt while making everyone a little less secure. Neither is ideal for the obvious reasons but I'm afraid all of the new Conservative voters are going to be bitterly disappointed by what they actually do if history is any indication. If you could arrest your way out of the drug problem Reagan would have won the war on drugs, he didn't, drugs won unfortunately. By locking people up it will cost the government many more millions than what government services cost. Meaning less money for doctors and programs for drug addicts as they will get out of prison eventually. I know none of this is helpful, it just is what it is. Hope things get better for you and your family and that Pierre keeps any of his promises this time. Thanks for responding respectfully, most people are just trying to survive.

As far as I know, everyone making less than $100,000 gets a carbon CHQ (I make over the cutoff so I have never seen a check. I'll actually get a tax break), once the cons are elected people won't get that anymore as the cons have said they're going to end many programs and they're going to slash government spending which generally means that you will be paying more for services while also not receiving the carbon chq anymore either? So just in terms of a day-to-day quality of life situation, what do you actually expect will be the difference? I know Pierre said he'd make it possible to buy a home in Vancouver where I live by "stopping the gatekeepers" which sounds cool of course cuz who doesn't want that but it doesn't actually make any sense as it doesn't say how? I believe that the fallout from all of these tariffs is going to hurt Canadians very badly, regardless of whoever is in government & they are going to be blamed no matter what they did or didn't do. Therefore, I have a massive concern about the Liberals winning by a hair and then getting slaughtered a few years later by the inevitable massive recession that's coming regardless as to who wins or what agreements they make. As I personally believe the Trump organization is tanking the economy on purpose for a variety of reasons (homeless people don't protest, bankruptcies make for cheap housing BuyBacks that can be turned into rentals, etc). When that happens, nobody is going to remember that PP is a trump wannabe, as PP will just say that he was right and that if you elect him he can make all of their problems instantly disappear. I believe that the fallout from all of these tariffs is going to hurt Canadians very badly, regardless of whoever is in government & they are going to be blamed no matter what they did or didn't do. Therefore, I have a massive concern about the Liberals winning by a hair and then getting slaughtered a few years later by the inevitable massive recession that's coming regardless as to who wins or what agreements they make.  As I personally believe the Trump organization is tanking the economy on purpose for a variety of reasons (homeless people don't protest, bankruptcies make for cheap housing BuyBacks that can be turned into rentals, etc). When that happens, nobody is going to remember that PP is a trump wannabe, as PP will just say that he was right and that if you elect him he can make all of their problems instantly disappear.  You have to remember that most people are borderline mentally challenged and when under duress they will believe any snake oil salesman who promises a better tomorrow, regardless of the obvious faults in their logic. That's why PP needs to win a minority government, if he does, then he has to work with the NDP which more or less guarantees that he can't do anything crazy and PP will own the inevitable recession. This will inevitably give enough room to the Liberals so that they can credibly say things have changed and Carney can come back with standard neoliberalism, Rather than PP's hyper neoconservatism that sells out the larger Canadian economy, all for oil and resource extraction.  I can't stress this enough, if Carney wins and eeks out a 3 or 4-year government, he is going to own the inevitable massive decline in the standard of living of Canadians. When that happens, all of the sad, stupid desperate people who watch the world's most concentrated media of billionaires in the world. Will eventually elect PP in a electoral super majority that allows him to ram through every single possible horrific, conservative wet fever dream, I'm talking destroying all of the CBC, bring back the death penalty for fentanyl dealers, life sentences for drug offenses, DOGE'ing the federal government, a complete militarization of the Canadian Army where we buy f-35s that don't actually work to the tune of trillions, dissolution of the FPCC (Farm Products Council of Canada) and the further erosion of our farming communities, 100's of billions of oil infrastructure investment for a single province and a Doug Ford style privatization of Canada's healthcare to "take pressure off healthcare" by allowing the wealthy to skip the line as the rest of our wait times increase as a result & our quality of care declines because when rich people aren't forced to use the same system as the rest of us, they will defund it accordingly, etc.....   The sad reality is Canadians have to be forced to deal with PP's charm offensive on a nightly basis for at least a couple years in order for Canadians to understand what they're buying before he gets a majority government which will 110% f**** happen. If Carney wins he has to wear the the inevitable recession that Trump has planned for the world & PP will eventually be able to tear up any agreement Carney made & sell out Canadian workers to the American Corporations like they did for NAFTA. That's why I'm telling everyone I know to vote their conscience, that means Greens, NDP and god help us all, the PPC. Anything short of that? And they're going to make Cruella Deville Milhouse into Thanos and I'm really not okay with that. PP will also be forced to negotiate with other parties on a new Trade agreement with Trump instead of acting like the little dictator he would love to be. That way PP will own the inevitable blowback from the downturn that's coming regardless of who is elected. Otherwise, he's eventually going to get a majority government which will be very bad for Canada as PP is going to prioritize oil that represents less than 10% of our economy over absolutely everything else because that's where who his donors are.
