Obama had a choice; fight the military industrial complex, the pharmaceutical industry, the oil industry, the deep state and the world's most powerful corporations that can have you or a loved one MLK'd by a "lone wolf" if you challenge them OR you can be famous, have healthcare, make money, have a secure retirement, go on the talk show circuit and get a book deal. That's a pretty stark choice and I'm starting to think that the only people who would choose the former have to believe in heaven (or more importantly hell) because there's no reward in this life to do the right thing. When are these interviews going to address the fact that Democrats commitment to the ultra wealthy at the expense of everyone else is just the other side of the same corrupt coin as Republicans. Democrats say they want to help the working class but actually protect the donor class, as Biden said, "nothing will fundamentally change." The disillusionment of the working class from this betrayal is what fuels the creeping fascism of Republicans. The Dems love when Republicans win because they know the GOP will reduce taxes for the wealthy, deregulate, attack workers rights and protect Big Business. That helps Democrats donors while allowing them to blame Republicans for what their own wealthy donors want. Wash, rinse and repeat. The system works but for whom?

Two things can be true at the same time; America's military industrial complex has purposely contributed to the destabilization of the world order AND China's commitment to a totalitarian society is dangerous, especially considering the fact that the world is in debt to the CCP. Obviously, the USA is the current major threat to world peace BUT if America was to recede from the south Pacific China would not become a benevolent force. China will continue to take the place of America as the global hegemonic power. Sadly, america has squandered its good will from WW2 and is in no position to push for a global rules based order. Still, that being said, China IS a threat to world peace as well. I'm not sure how to deal with this grim reality but it has to be addressed in order to convince anyone about how to move forward together for a better world. Ugh. The system works.

However, you did it quietly and let's be honest, if you did it for reasons of political expediency because he was upsetting the exact type of people WE NEED TO UPSET, it means investing anything into your institution is worthless because the moment it becomes relevant, you will sell that person out because it's in your interest to do so. That is not the type of journalism I'm interested in and I'm deeply disappointed in TRNN. If you had the least amount of respect for a man who's risked his life for decades to bring REAL news, You would at least have the decency to explain why you unceremoniously dropped him from TRNN. Name names and explain what losing the most credible journalist of our time's reporting gained TRNN, it's supporters BUT MOST OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO FORCED CHRIS HEDGES OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!?!? Also, lets be clear if Feinn were to actually cross the line from auto workers intrests to broader working class intrests and was successful he would be assassinated by a "lone wolf" like every other working class hero. The truth is that the Democrat's sole purpose is to take energy and resources from the Left. Period. They made that clear with what they did to Bernie Sanders, they would rather Trump than real progress because ultimately the goal is to consolidate money and power into the elites. With that as a guide, the logical conclusion to our future is eventual climate catastrophe that will be the pretext to fascism. When that happens and we don't have a movement that has been well funded and trained people, they'll round up the political opposition and the new world order will be impossible to fight against (think of the French underground leading up to the Nazi take over). Therefore, like the Black Panther Party, we need to build a parallel government that ACTUALLY meaningfully delivers material difference for the poor - up to the middle class (people need to know that they aren't expected to be poor forever). Then a commitment from leadership personally to donate all money earned after hitting the average middle class wages to the Panther Party. The leadership would commit to a broader set of goals (M4A, anti war foreign policy, etc) that are not negotiable to the duopoly. Continue to use the resources to hire doctors, educators, lawyers, security and financial services for Party members and the poor. Also use the resources to buy housing/support business and the very last thing is to support electoral politics in so much as boots on the ground or fund raising from outside of the Party for candidates who have our same stated goals with an explicit understanding that if they end up being traitors we will use our resources to make there lives very uncomfortable (not violence but paid protestors, lawsuits, basically act like a hostile corporation). Anything short of that promotes the false hope that electoral politics can be changed to help the working class. Electoralism's last chance was Bernie Sanders and that failed so the inevitable war is coming and unless we start organizing now we will all lose when the planet burns. When the Democrats lose the 2024 election, a Trump presidency will reward Democrats donors with tax cuts and deregulation just like Republicans donors. The Dems will then fundraise off the terrible things that Donald Trump does and normie's are forced back to "centrist" Democrats to escape Republican authoritarian policies. Wash, rinse and repeat. The only thing that the DNC cares about is that there's no green policies that affect the Oil & Gas sector, or the Left gets anywhere near power, the military industrial complex profits off the deaths of Palestinians/Ukrainians and that Americans never receive Medicare-4-All or reasonably priced pharmaceuticals.
