So nothing will change, shocking.......

Libertarian ideology is basically that of a child's: I should be able to do whatever I want and be left alone unless I need something because that's different.
30
Yeah, I can't wait until Pierre takes away diabetic medication from children and seniors!
25
The Ford plan. Heavy on promises, light on details. The surprises come later;)
22
Take a good look Canada, Scheer is planning to take it national.
20
Rural xenophobia is a tried and true political strategy for the Right. they can blame "them" for all the problems without having to offer up any kind of policies that helps the working class. The system works!
17
Ford's brand is anti intelligence, anti union, pro cronyism and petty cruelty.
17
Good luck convincing people to pay $10000 for a phone
17
No. Unfortunately using this measure to go after people we don't like sets a precedent for future protests. The existing law was enough to maintain law and order. Now it will be used to go after environmental protestors, indigenous peoples, unions, anti-war, etc. Just remember that Pierre Polllievere will be our next Prime Minister.
17
So you share the same values as Saudi Arabia!?!?!
15
Exactly, Notley destroying the world oil price was completely evil.
15
Totally disingenuous, no one is suggesting going back to the stone age and not sure how further developing oil and gas will reduce carbon?
14
Does that include its indigenous population?
14
@thrillhouse7867 obviously not, but if you admit that then you have to admit that after 40 years of conservative rule, 4 years of the NDP during a major oil crisis wasn't the reason Alberta is f*****.
14
I hate Trudeau for making me agree with Pierre PissyPants, Johnson is in no position to be the sole arbitrator of truth. Sadly, the fact is that both parties in our corporate duopoly have vested interests in China that remain undisclosed but I would say the fact that both voted for the anti-worker FIPA China trade agreement in 2012 says everything about what both parties want (corporate hegemony over workers under the guise of national trade). PP can make all the political hay he wants out of this but you can rest assured that the would do pretty much the same thing f**** with China as his party also prefers corporations over people. Just look at Polllievere's colleague in the conservative's last government John Baird who went to a literal gold mine and Chinese billionaires after serving as foreign Minister. You couldn't write this level of corrupt s*** and have it believable on a TV show. The system works.
11
I got caught in obvious corruption and I'm sorry I've been caught........
11
I guess being comfortable with the extrajudicial murder of a Canadian citizen (criminal or not) says a lot about your position.
11
Exactly, what's f**** next? A decent retirement!?!?
10
So let me get this straight? If Israel annexes the Golen heights and the international community doesn't blink an eye, that's fine? However, if Russia doesn't want NATO and it's s nuclear missiles on its border in the form of Ukrainian NATO membership and invades that land, that's worth risking total nuclear annihilation because only certain countries can annex land in the international community? Other than Europe and North America, the rest of the world sees the hypocrisy of NATO and its deference towards the extreme right-wing government of Israel. This is how world wars happen......
10
Lol, does that include when oil crashes again? Or how many people who works in Alberta but live in other provinces?!?
9
This is a taste of the future, doesn't matter if it's conservatives or Liberals
9
@jasseyjefferr7787 however, Pierre Polllievere is pretty much the opposite of Jack Layton. Jagmeet might be another politician but PP represents the worst side of conservative politics.
8
Well, let's remember that Harper government (including Poillevre) fought the Toronto G20 Summit Protest case (the most arrests of protestors, EVER) against the Harper government's abuse of power and eventually lost in the supreme Court to the tune of 16 million. I'm glad the court rejected the Liberal's abuse of power as well because I know once one Party gets away with it, both parties will abuse their power again and again. Funny how both sides pretend that they don't do the exact same thing....... The system works.
8
Exactly, F the environment, obviously I'd rather a new F-350 and a 60" TV than a future for our kids!
8
Tax breaks for foreign corporations, Don't pay for themselves
7
@jasseyjefferr7787 fair enough. I've been trying to give Singh the benefit of the doubt but I'm starting to think he's the Tony Blair of Canada
7
When you leave, does that include all the infrastructure that the federal government has paid? Do you immediately appropriate all the land of the indigenous peoples there? Does Alberta have to pay for access to coastal Waters through BC? Simple solutions are for simpletons
7
Trump breaking trade agreements with Canada, destroying Canadian jobs isn't a big deal so long as he's mean to Trudeau!!!
7
Oil and gas industry is worth 9% of GDP, almost 5% of GDP is tourist. When it spills it will destroy the tourism industry, why isn't that ever considered when discussing the economics?
6
We need to elect a third party PPC NDP or greens
6
If I heard a gunfight I wouldn't get my cell phone out, maybe getting out of the line of fire?
6
If you have been paying rent for 20 years you've already paid the repairs.
6
Not far enough, rent is out of control.
6
I don't like the conservative either. But they're the only other choice
6
@M.M. I don't see how Jack Layton would agree with Pierre Polllievere or his vague cliches?
5
Exactly, F the environment, obviously I'd rather a new F-350 and a 60" TV than a future for our kids!
5
Fortunately only 1% voted PPC, seeing as the tiki torch crowd is a small percentage of the population there's little point in going further right. Dump the social conservatives, forget the PC back stabber Mackay and look to Ambrose or Michael Chong. They'd certainly help with the misogyny and racism inherit in the Cons, then they could get back the suburbs and maybe even urban voters.
5
Canadian conservatives would love this.
5
@Kash568 Trudeau breaking his promise to change the first past the post system destroyed his credibility amongst younger Canadians. Once in government he realized he benefited from that system. Unfortunately, he would rather the conservatives win even though the overwhelming majority of Canadians are progressive, then givie up his ability to steal the NDPs ideas while taking credit. The reality is if we had ranked choice voting neither the Conservatives nor the Liberals would have a strangle hold over Canadians with 30% of the vote but both parties corporate donors and the MSM benefit from this unfair system. The system works
4
The only difference between Russia and Canada is at least in Russia they tell you you have no choice. In Canada, you have to choose between two corporate corrupt parties and the media cheerleads because they are owned by the same billionaires that donate to both parties. The system works
4
Gawd, even the food guide is a lefty conspiracy
4
Scheer have no plan, Trudeau is terrible but at least he freed the weed. Cons always talk about lower taxes but it usually just means money for the rich and more service fees for the rest of us
4
Exactly, Trump breaking trade agreements with Canada, destroying Canadian jobs isn't a big deal so long as he's mean to Trudeau!!!
4
@jasseyjefferr7787 so you would support a completely different ideological philosophy because you don't like the leadership of the NDP?
4
F the environment, obviously I'd rather a new F-350 and a 60" TV than a future for our kids!
4
Agreed but unfortunately, both of our two main parties in our corporate duopoly don't abide by the rule of law. Do you recall Harper's abuse of power with police in Toronto to protect the meeting of the corporate owners of the universe?
4
The BC Liberals fired the guy who proved this a decade ago, then quietly accept endless donations from the real estate development industry. It's corruption at the highest level, funny how it's being brought up during the NDP term. Corporate media cheer leaded the BC Liberals and totally ignored the obvious truth and they will have forgotten this again when they try and return the BC Liberals back to power. Sadly the system works and we know for whom.
4
Precisely.
4
Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic illness in Canada. Diabetic complications send people to the emergency room and into waiting rooms and hallways all across Canada which cost vastly more than cost effective diabetic medication. I get that making people suffer is a conservative virtue but it doesn't actually save money or help anyone.
4
@kijijiallin no, just conservatives afraid of the facts.
