  1. The takedown is legit. Taught in police too. Just looks silly because the instructor is so huge. It takes the knife out of the line of your body, traps the arm out of reach of a knife-hand swap, and controls it to the ground. Even if it's silly on HIM for her, she still needs to learn the takedown.
