@fix0the0spade It went from an unreliable but accurate piece of garbage into an extremely reliable, very accurate, tight bullpup. The only real downside is the lack of ambidextrous holding now. Weight isn't so big an issue since it's tucked into the shoulder (or elbow, when running), and aids keeping the recoil down.

@Gareth Fairclough Unfortunately, actual sources based on the trials and use in field use facts to disprove your personal opinion where it had 2.5 times the MRBF on average, sometimes as high as greater than 3 times depending on environment.

Tom Yorke Personal opinion does not defeat factual analysis and hard sourced numbers from a wider range.

@briananthony4044 Not so with this gun. Visited it quite recently, they have records showing that it achieved essentially a 100% hit rate on training shots against ships they put out in the bay. It being so static and predictable was a huge benefit.

@screeacher They were, completely. The modern variant is a very good rifle.

Yes you can fire from the left shoulder. There's even footage on the British Army youtube showing them practicing precisely that.

The smaller carbine version (Called L22) is primarily intended for vehicle crews and aircrew. It's VERY small, like SMG small, but has a real 5.56 punch. Fantastic little bit of kit.

@khaak2390 I figure Ian is just being polite, no reason not to be when he's given you a chance to handle and make a video on a curious device.

@CanalTremocos It'd imagine the people who actually did the reliability testing of t he A2 on its development within the Army who published the results of the MRBF would know a thing or two about failures. As I said, trying to claim it's unreliable despite an elongated, exhaustive, and worldwide testing regime that confirmed it is not is just blatantly untrue.
