I had a old girl friend who did this 3 times. The first two times her car had little damage but the people behind had to pay for the damage. However the third time the car behind was higher to the ground and there bumper was on top of her rear bumper. Her car was then totaled. She lost her car and had to get a new one. She never did it again.
