  4. I've considered the place twice. My first interview was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced in a professional setting. The interview had absolutely nothing to do with what I bring to the table but everything to do with how well I'd handle someone taking the opposite side of any situation no matter what I said or suggested. At the end of the interview I said to my inquisitors: "This interview would have gone much better if I stepped out of the door and came back in and we reset" The main inquisitor looks at me and agrees - the only time they'd agreed with anything I'd said. The second time a former colleague reached out to me from there. I thought about my past experience and decided to cancel the morning of the interview. No great loss but a learning experience for the kind of environment you need to avoid. All my friends and former colleagues that have ever worked there have left.

  5. I wish them luck dipping into that endless pool of 10x developers while betting they can pay them peanuts while offshoring the roles. And you wonder why software gets worse almost by the month. Those super star 10x developers don't want your shitty job - lets face it most of the jobs are just that, shit. The brighter ones might as well setup shop for themselves, if they make it then good for them.

  8. I worked at a firm where my soon to be fired boss had zip ties that you can use to restrain a person visible in his vehicle. That morning we'd walked in and noticed that his computer which was unlocked was open to a webpage where "ahem" solicitations were made. We all left early for lunch because we weren't sure what the guy would do when he was given the news.

  33. Well, Google has shown that AI is useful for rooting out corporate racisssssmus. The funniest thing for me is a lot of corporations rushing to implement AI solutions then once they're deployed into production their users being able to break out of their sand box and cause chaos. I think we're heading into a new internet/online dark age which is the opposite or what the AI peddlers suggest.
