I bought tickets for myself and my girlfriend about 4 months before she had to fly down to Clearwater in Florida for a module of her masters course at Columbia university. On the flight home she complains that there must have been a reason why I didn't have the tickets immediately printed after I bought them but waited the months until the day we were about to fly. I thought to myself this is a VERY weird thing to be complaining about especially since she'd still got her free flight out of me and in 1st class no less. The argument didn't stop all the way home to NYC. The argument continued into the next morning. After raising her finger to silence me I packed all my things and walked out. That was the end of our relationship. So, yes, you are right, they will find any stupid reason to complain.

@WarbirdPhoenix I've seen women on dating apps (over the wall too) put down that they like men that own their own planes. The grift never ends.

@LinkinParked She had convinced herself that the reason I had not printed the tickets was that I was hedging that we'd be splitting up so didn't want to give her the ticket that she could use after we split. Pretty sure that was some amazing projection right there on her part. The actual reason why I didn't have the tickets printed is so they don't get lost over the 4 months before the flight; It's as simple as that. In the long run she got what she was most afraid of, us splitting up. This was 12 years ago and I haven't been in touch with her ever since. Fast forward to current year who has a printed ticket before a flight anyway now? The things are printed when you get to the checkin desk.
