  1. I left the UK in 1996 before the dark lord took over. I went back in April this year after 10 year hiatus of visiting. On the flight back I knew that it was no longer home and I would never ever live there again. I could write pages and pages about all the dystopian stuff that is woven into the fabric of the country especially if you live in and around London. It is horrifying. All my friends say don't come back.

  2.  @markmitchell590  I was talking to my friend and his wife about how to get around London. After they explained how it works I said: "Oh, so the government knows exactly who you are, where you have traveled to and on what trains and busses and the exact times you got on an off all those modes of transportation? They suddenly seemed to wake up because it had never occurred to them before. In the past you could pay for a ticket with cash and travel, now you have to fully identify yourself and get tracked everywhere you go in London. As I said I could write pages and pages about all the dystopian stuff that has replaced what used to be a free and open society.

  4. I know exactly what you mean. All my life long live mostly in the UK but I could never see myself living back there.
