  8. That is horrifying. I think I'll skip flying domestically from now on and chose non American carriers internationally. Here's the thing, I am black and have been working without the assistance of these DIE programs for over 30 years. These programs are literal cancer (see my username) because they paint everyone no matter their competence level with the veneer of incompetence. In some ways I am almost glad that I am coming to the end of my career and can only wish the world the very best of luck in this insane new age. I'm cynical enough to believe that American companies are going thru this to drive down cost of hiring while presenting themselves as virtuous. I dunno, putting peoples lives at risk in this manner is absolute and pure evil.

  14. Regarding Matt's comment about pungent food in the office. I worked in an office that has no windows. The office was big enough that 5 of my direct reports shared the space with me. It had a big circular table where we could hold meetings, etc. At lunch time I'd go to the cafeteria for lunch but my direct reports decided that they would rather eat their meals in the shared office. All 5 of them were from different parts of India with their own brand of aromatic food. In this small office where the AC barely functioned, without windows, when all 5 of them sat down to eat the smell from all the commingling food was absolutely unbearable if you had to work over lunch. I mentioned that maybe they should eat in the cafeteria over lunch as that would work out better for all of us. I was reported to my boss and to HR for being culturally insensitive. People can trample over your rights but the moment you ask them to be reasonable the knives come out.

  17. I've been in the US since the 90's and In corporate America in all that time. This is 100% business as usual. I remember back in the 90's, when I'd just moved here, working on a project that $1/2bn was spent on that was failing, the insane way there were so many committees in charge of things that made it impossible to hold anyone accountable for anything. I'll never forget walking down the hallway in head office thinking that to myself. Overlay that 90's stuff with modern day wokeness and you have a recipe for utter chaos. Rats like this thrive in these types of organisations, I've seen more rats than I care to remember.

It's like me receiving mail from Verizon selling some new service where the ad is a back guy and some hot white chic. Considering I live in an area that is 99% white and I'm the only one of 3 black people that live in this town it's pretty rich trying to "sell" something that is not the norm, not even in large cities.

  22. I wasn't married but 12 years ago I went in to the hospital to have part of a lung removed. While I was in the hospital my other half and so called partner moved out and took my pets with her leaving no forwarding address. When I finally got home from the hospital 4 days later I called the police, they located her and told her she'd better return my pets or else. As I mentioned elsewhere there's an epidemic of people that have zero morals or empathy and cannot see beyond themselves or what they can take from their "partner".

Doesn't this person have any critical thinking skills and question the captain or at the very least read back what they're about to do? I also just read the transcript of the Prime Air accident and I am just incredibly sad. Somehow I missed that accident. This was the first time I'd heard of it.

  50.  @AngelWerx-2012  Yes, yes, I did. A state trooper came round to my house and sat and chatted with me about it and what had happened. He could see that I was in a really bad way from the surgery and the last thing I needed was this bs. After talking to me he went away worked out where she'd moved to and called her. He later said she made lots of excuses why she did what she did. He explained to her what she had to do and two days later she brought them to my house in their carriers. I took my pets and slammed the door in her face.
