Threatened with being fired if you use the word "master" in any context during development. Some capitulated (many didn't) and renamed the master branches to "develop" which caused no end of confusion and missing bug fixes and features. This black man carried on using master and slave in my projects and NEVER considered changing anything. When they finally came for me I decided I've had it with "tech" and retired. In the 18 months since retiring things aren't getting any better.

C++ gets worse and worse with every revision. This is a whole other level.

@hanelyp1 The stories I could tell. A former colleague told me that Putty was banned a couple months ago and removed from all devs PC's. I wonder what Putty's transgression was.

@Basil-the-Frog Actually, no. To prevent people logging in to the Linux machines because, despite the massive Linux deployment in the firm and almost all the software running on Linux they hired some utterly clueless Linux is bad clowns so the Linux devs are forced to use Windows for development and can no longer get shell access other than to look at logs. I wish I was making this up. This is a huge well known company. I don't miss it one bit.
