H1B in its current form is being abused to the max. I came to the US on a H1-B because I was a specialist on an automotive CPU created in Europe. I'm from the UK but I worked for a company in Germany on contract using these these CPU's and was approached by the US branch of another German company that decided to use these parts in a US developed product. That was what was on my H1-B. The lawyers/employer had to prove to get my visa that I was not depriving an American of a job. I was NOT underpaid, far, far from that. However, over time the H1-B visas were abused to get cheap indentured programmers with no specific skills to the point where a naturalized Indian female colleague walked into my office and apologized to me for what she and everyone around could see was going on - that was in 2001. The corpo/staffing company abuse now is totally off the charts.

@RealLifeIronMan I guess I was one of the few lucky ones. I got paid for every hour of overtime I did for the almost 7 years I worked on that project as a contractor. However, once I became an employee of said US arm of German company ... conditions deteriorated fast. I quit after a year as I was no longer dependent on a visa with that company.

He has since reversed his position. Especially after Sam Hyde's video.

Probably contained a lot of laid off H1B's trying to avoid being sent home. The H1B's at my last employer were petrified about being let go. Strangely over the years what used to be a quite diverse group of people became mostly Indians. That's just a fact that everyone could see. Pretty telling when they bleat about DEI while building a mono culture right before everyone's eyes.

I left you a very informative comment but the Google censors decided it was too hot for their panties. Only the devil knows why?

Does the US innovate anymore? It seems the only "innovation" they do these days is spend energy finding ways to abuse their existing customers with worse products.
