  1. I lived in NYC for 2 years. Wall to wall dinner 304's. If they're not trying to get dinner out of you by the second date they're dragging you to the handbag or shoe store. Never been so disillusioned by those 2 years of my life. I moved out of NYC 8 years ago and I haven't bothered with dating ever since. Life became way more peaceful and predictable after that.

  2. I was invited over to my neighbors house one Christmas a few years back. After dinner we were sitting talking about some nonsense. My neighbors partner agreed with her about something that she had said and then she proceeded to argue with him as to why he was wrong. I just sat there in disbelief watching this and at some point I whispered "he's agreeing with you" however, she was already on a roll and carried on arguing with the guy that was agreeing with her. When they inevitably split up a few months later she'd invite me to come over to hang out. I NEVER took her up on her offer. Just an amazing thing to witness and learn lessons from.
