I went to see a movie last night. Stopped at the local pizza place beforehand. A salad, pizza and dessert for one plus tip set me back $68. Connecticut* I don't know what it's like in the UK as I haven't been back in years but my friends tell me it's pretty bad there too.

Yes, the houses being made of wood are a concern. If you live in the southwest where there aren't tornadoes houses are made of mud bricks or some shit. In my years here listening to the sound of hurricane force winds blasting through the roof of the house is sphincter loosening. About 8 years ago a tornado touched down about a 1/4 mile from my house. You could see its track through the farmers field and into the forest that got utterly flattened. If that passed over my house, which is exposed on a hill side, the house would have been converted to match sticks. One thing with wood though is it never feels cold/damp to the touch like I remember houses back in the UK with windows that weren't double glazed. Shudder.

There a hunter I follow here on YT. He showed video of some clowns setting up a target on the edge of their property and opening fire into his. You could hear the bullets whizzing by his head on the camera audio. He had to call the cops after having to draw his own weapon and yell at the goons. Also there are far too many stories of people that have been killed in their homes after bullets came through the wood sheetrock. Just saying. I live in the countryside and we have our share of nut jobs (even one of those CNN clowns that got fired lives here) but I wouldn't swap it for the city where things are way worse.

@jamesbaker3153 IKR. Everyone is taking the piss. Local supermarkets were selling Turkey's for $70 a pop before thks giving. I went to a store in NY, across the border, and a 21lb Turkey was $12. I told my neighbor and they didn't believe me.

@valentine8161 I was never a fan of London, lived there for years. Ended up living in places like Henley, Woking, Reading, Maidenhead etc before leaving in the mid 90's.

Even relationships are 100% transactional all revolving around the size of the dudes wad.

@Nick-ij5nt I'd go much further north than Greenwich or Ridgefield. I find it's way too close to the city full of pretentious assholes that also have apartments in the city. Head about 40 or more miles further north to places like Kent. That is countryside. That said, Henry Kissenger did live in Kent ...

@Nick-ij5nt Gotcha. I guess having worked in Greenwich CT for some absolute low life scum I hear the town name and it triggers me a little 😂😂😂 that's on me.
