What they’re saying is that in a pool of diversity there can’t be anyone qualified for the job? When they interview applicants it’s people who are in that field, and yeah they want more diversity and more voices from that diverse pool. Dr. MLK, since she mentioned, was 100% for affirmative action programs and undoing centuries of injustice by giving more consideration to the oppressed in these institutions so that they can catch up. Because they were systemically and institutionally held back for centuries it takes systemic and institutional change and address to have equal opportunity.
