  1. Trip Giannini what do you mean by technocratic? The guy isn’t looking to engineer solutions to issues, or appointing professionals to advisory and decision-making positions. Closest to a technocrat in this race is Yang. But he’s more of a capitalist technocrat looking to progress capitalist entrepreneurialism.

  2. Trip Giannini have there been actual technocrats and Technocracy though? The last big Technocracy movement was during the Great Depression. And I’ve yet to hear of a system where decisions are made or majorly influenced by professional engineers and scientists. The closest thing is some State Socialist governments whereby the party puts professionals in positions of power. Technocracy really hasn’t been a systemic institution in the classes of political power, so any “technocrats” you may be referring to may not actually be technocrats. Yang isn’t a technocrat true. Just someone focused on technological innovations and advancements. But he has expressed in using data and statistics in his decision making and policies, which is why I referred him as closest to a technocrat.
