  1. People need to realize Democrats are traditionalist conservatives. Meaning they are incrementalist, and preserve political institutions and status quo. They don’t rock the boat, they maintain a steady stream and believe they must stop abrupt or radical change less the boat sinks. Republicans were moderate cultural and social conservatives, but are now a party of conspiracists, rising nationalists, and religious fundamentalism. In other words there is no party of reform or revolutionary politics.
