This is why leftists like Chomsky have no problem voting Biden, politics isn’t the end for them. They call for direct action outside of politics and creating popular assemblies and associations.   3. Alex I was cool with Bernie as a “temporary band aid” which is exactly what he represents. Social democracy is just dirigisme also call liberal corporatism. It is not socialism nor revolutionary. But it preserves capitalism by making it more tolerable for underclasses via social programs. That’s not the goal, the end of capitalism and wage slavery is.

  4. Arnoldo Deleon centralized bureaucracy was a failure of epic proportions. Social democracy gave way to opportunists and concessions. Marxist socialism has failed. (Ironically disillusioned Marxists gave birth to “third position” aka Fascism). It’s telling that these Marxist regimes haven’t even been able to do away with the core of capitalism that Marx and every socialist opposed, WAGE LABOR!!! They are Corporatists, collective bargaining on a nationalist Syndicalist scale. Liberal corporatism (New Deal) and Social Democracy (Dirigisme) is closer to Fascists economics than neoliberalism. They’re both authoritarian but that’s all they have in common. The neoliberals want the rule of capital, an oligarchy of capital. Fascists are anti-liberal nationalists that wanted to end the power of financial capitalism for a nationalist corporative economics. Think New Deal on steroids in every aspect of social, economic and political life. On a visit to New York, Mussolini said to Grover Whalen, Chairman of Mayor Fiorello La Guardia's Committee on Receptions to Distinguished Guests, "You want to know what Fascism is? Corporatism means society organized in interest sectors (corporations) to work together through the State for the collective good. So the collective bargaining of capital and worker interests mediated by the government. Corporatocracy is when power resides in big capital, business corporations make the rules which is more what neoliberal capitalism has lead to. Fascists were anti-liberal capitalism they would actually hate Biden or Trump. In fact keeping tabs on actual Fascists I found they hate Trump as another neoliberal capitalist. It just makes me mad that progressive social democrats, which in the general political spectrum is still right wing for they aren’t anti-capitalists, are trying to sound more revolutionary than a libertarian socialist intellectual like Chomsky. The guy has been pushing for direct action and popular assembly his whole career and he, in his experience supports using the vote for the Democrats to decelerate the rise of far right extremism, leads to backlash of calling him a right winger and false leftist. He’s actual leftist, a libertarian socialist and anti-capitalist, more than any social democrat. It’s just more proof of how out of whack the American political spectrum actually is.
