  1. As per slave owner and Founding Father James Madison, “father of the Constitution”, said himself the goal was to prevent both majoritarian tyranny, and tyranny of the minority. So a balance was sought and the result the system that’s been around since. I’d say the Republicans agree with the more anti-democratic tendencies of the writers of the Constitution. But disagree that the minority should not rule the majority. They are all for oligarchy.
