  1. Yeah to say African Americans are monolithic and unified or less diverse.... For descendants of slaves the culture is certainly uniquely American. But there are other African Americans like Ilhan Omar. From Somalia and Muslim. But I wouldn’t say African American community are monolithic.

  2. He does realize there are African Americans that came here recently from Africa right? Rep Ilhan Omar is an African American from Somalia. She’s Muslim and not culturally monolith with the African community that are descended from slaves. And there are other black Americans not from Africa. Haitians and Afro-Latin Americans are culturally different as well.
