@readytoworkboulder rebellion is good. It reminds the State they won’t always monopolize violence. The State commits the most atrocious violence and yet we’re supposed to allow the State to dictate to us what is moral violence and what isn’t? And people are just supposed to sit still while State cops can kill American citizens for whatever reasons? And demand the people still remain docile about it and pay taxes to a State that doesn’t care about them? Nah man, it’s time we regain our radical liberal roots. As Jefferson said: “What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.” And this goes for those that stormed the Capitol as well. While I disagree with why they did it, I understand their frustrations and fears. Even if many are into conspiracies. Unfortunately as have occurred in BLM riots, during the Capitol storming people got hurt, and some even died. If only we can channel this anger not at our fellow citizens, but to the ruling class. The problem isn’t rioting, as MLK said “riots are the language of the unheard.” The problem is how can we take back our liberties and remind the government who rules this Republic.
