@Zicologo you got it twisted. Orwell likely would have supported the BLM because it was a backlash and riot from the people. He didn’t like cops, and abhorred when those in power use violence. The protesters and rioters weren’t in power, just a mob out for insurrection. Which is bad, mob rule is bad, but the BLM mob didn’t actually have political power. It was a spring of both peaceful protests and riots culminated from the pandemic, police brutality, and political partisanship. Considering Orwell took up arms to fight alongside anarchists against Fascists in Spain, he would have been against the State. And be critical of focusing on the riots instead of the cause for them. Orwell opposed the capitalist State, and did not condemn insurrection from the lower classes. For damn sure Orwell would have supported Antifa
