Now imagine how Blacks feel to this day. Still feeling the effects of 400 years of slavery and discrimination. As Frantz Fanon said there is a psychological trauma among colonized people. The truth is Reconstruction isn’t over. Build a New South, respecting cultural heritage, but promoting diverse relations. South should move from social conservatism to Jeffersonianism, populism, classical liberalism, and agrarian socialism. Ironically New England was the bastion of Traditionalism and the south the bastion of liberalism and progressive populism in the early republic. Racial politics really distorted southern politics to more reactionary and at times regressive. I think there’s room for more populism once again.

@lazygongfarmer2044 more like simping for state governments. You know there were actual anarchists during this time? But I don’t know how they would have dealt with a majority armed black populace
