  2. Joshua Bates “Despotism is a legitimate mode of government in dealing with barbarians, provided the end be their improvement.” Of course people don’t have it always right. I agree with certain sentiments of historical figures, as I disagree with others. For example I also agree with Mills support of worker’s cooperatives over capital bosses.

  3. DMCLN well yeah in his time the worker’s owned the majority of the means of production. People were farmers and artisans. Mill was an early supporter of worker coops. As a utilitarian Mill was concerned about the greater good and happiness of all individuals.
