  1. The neoliberal centrist Democratic establishment relies on selling platitudes and playing identity politics to get the socially liberal and minority votes. The conservative Republicans play identity politics for evangelists and Anglo-American traditionalists. Identity politics are mostly used to pander for votes. Reality they serve corporate interests. As a Socialist I’m more class conscience. At the root of all systemic and structural inequalities is socioeconomic class distinctions of a privileged minority and working majority.

  2. C. Hill is race not tied to the propaganda of a ruling elite maintaining wealth disparities? Racism was used to justify the subjugation of people for free labor and maintain race as culturally relevant. Class consciousness unites people with common cause, problems, and solidarity. It’s a fundamental principle of Socialist and Marxist thought. The ruling class divides the underclasses under preconceptions of differences along racial and ethnic lines.

  3. Lexort 420 thanks for the vid and article. Found I agreed with much of the video. I always advocate education and community work as our prime methods of uniting people. To be frank I was mostly critical of intersectionality and identity politics as I understand it to be used by liberals. But it seems it can inform Socialism. Without a doubt I believe class struggle to be the core conciliator among demographics, but unique experiences are relevant and important to different groups that experience the oppression and disparities of class society and the State. As an anarchist(LibSoc An-Syn) the dismantling of hierarchies can be instrumental, and I believe the concepts can be supplemental and inform each other. Thanks comrade.

  4. Lexort 420 well it is for liberalism. Under socialism class conflict is the core principle by which the ruling classes maintain subjugation over the underclasses. Maintaining superficial differences along racial, ethnic, religious lines and etc... prevents class consciousness and unification of worker’s solidarity of all people. Classless society would be a society in solidarity that has forgone notions of separate races and what not. It’s why Socialism is a international ideology, humanity is one, and ruling elites divide among superficial differences. Individual differences are respected, but all humans are equal in measure of worth.

Oh right revolutions and violence towards the aristocratic classes, so that the bourgeoisie can become the elite class of a new liberal world order. I bet you think Market Economies can’t exist without Capitalism too. Funny cause Socialists were influenced by Adam Smith and David Ricardo for Socialist Markets where the worker’s run the industries.

  6. John Smith not all Socialism is Marxist-Leninist, Statist, or racist. Pretty sure most agree with class solidarity across racial, gender, and ethnic lines. But it depends on the nation. I mean even the USSR had black and Asian folk on their posters, even though there were few of those people in Russia. But even in Marxist thought the worker’s solidarity is championed and people persuaded to abandon notions of demographics. Class struggle may not eliminate racial issues but it does provide a new social revolution to further expand. As for anarchists like me, well we dismantle all hierarchies, and advocate worker’s solidarity and humanity before any denominations.
