  1. Capitalism (the term itself) originated as a criticism from liberals to describe a political system governed by the interests of business and mercantile elites. It has always meant the same, I don’t know how the left allowed people to believe Capitalism is freedom and synonymous with free market oriented economy. The very word implies the rule and dominance of capital and capitalists (private property owning class) in society.
