He did not trust any system to be able to contain authoritarianism except true classless Democratic Socialism. He was right about the use of language to undermine freedom. As we have seen the Corporate world order lives attacking Socialism and equating it all with anti-liberty, Statism, and Marxist-Leninism. Conveniently keeping Libertarian Socialism and it’s more Democratic schools in the dark. It’s so bad people think Socialism means the government doing anything. He was right about the tendencies to use surveillance systems for the protection of the elite rule. Hell Captain America covered this in Winter Soldier. “Security” vs Privacy is now a political issue. The neoliberal world is under a multi-national Corporate-Statist Order. Where corporations ally with political bureaucrats to maintain a status quo of wealth and power. IngSoc (the elitist, powerful, wealthy, privileged) vs the proles (the proletariat, the working people, underclasses).
