  1.  @theantagonists-e6j  not invaded but they certainly interfere in elections to plunder resources from foreign nations. Regime changes are just as bad as invasion, it’s still imperialism. CIA ops is still invasion of national sovereignty when it entails controlling democratic institutions and governments.

  2.  @GolemRising  the mode of geopolitics has changed. Part of the Russian invasion is because it’s an older politic of doing thing. America unfortunately is literally seen as the Sith empire in the world for generations now. From regime changes, to funding extremists (including literal Nazis), to using proxies in wars on their behalf. Just because America doesn’t invade democratic nations doesn’t mean they aren’t imposing wars by proxy or economic imperialism. And they DO invade nations still. Just cause Middle Eastern nations aren’t democratic doesn’t make it any less egregious to invade. It hurts Americans too as the executive consolidates more war powers meant for Congress. Just cause geopolitics is different doesn’t mean the consequences are different, authoritarianism just takes a new face. It also isn’t black and white, the US gov doesn’t consider Cuba a democratic government and nation, hence the heavy economic sanctions, but Cuba does have democratic institutions. The US just doesn’t like the Communist ideology, but it’s not up to them to decide what democracy is. The majority of Cubans believe in their anti-imperialist revolution and support their government

  3. 1) Yes Ukraine is closer to home in Europe 2) The coverage is racist as hell. “This is what you expect to see in Africa and the Middle East; these are civilized people” etc… Even though it’s Western governments invading the underdeveloped world and plundering resources 3) Why is Ukraine getting all this support and memefication (itself problematic) which yes they should be supported; but when the West imperializes non-white nations it’s nothing but justifications or ignoring the suffering
