Keep Moving as a Socialist I think Marx was a Socialist and while Marxism in itself is an intellectual critique of capitalism and analyzing historical materialism, Marxism is a school of thought of Socialism. Marx can influence many a Socialists from the more Democratic Luxembourg to the more authoritarian Leninists.

  6. Dung Pie well Communism is a Stateless, moneyless, classless society to be achieved. It’s a form of Socialism that holds the means of production, and produce or distribution in common. Communism is something Marxism-Leninism proved abysmal at achieving. They had a State, money, and even used wage labor lol No the only ones to come close to Communism were Anarcho-Communists, that is anarchist anti-Statist Libertarian Socialists.

  7. Hierarchies are BS. Humans evolved as social creatures, and so mutual aid was the way it is. Anthropologists say the majority of humanity was spent in Stateless communities, quite egalitarian so as to survive, and with equal distribution of goods. Tribalisms did exist, but it wasn’t all conflicts. Once the Agricultural Revolution came a shift in society occurred where a minority took the surplus and put themselves above the majority by holding resources. Hierarchies don’t have to be. Peterson’s garbage was especially egregious for a Libertarian Socialist.

  9. Vile Crocodile that’s not a hierarchy. People are better than others at something, that doesn’t mean they all kneel at their feet. In hunter-gathering societies say, women aren’t at home they picked up spears and hunted with men. Seems pretty dumb if they let half the village stay when they need food and tools to survive. Many of these societies had matriarchs or elders, but these weren’t coercive rulers, more as respected figures that guided the good of the community. Earliest hierarchy to have exist may have been the old crime of raping a woman. That itself is a dominant hierarchy of one coercing another. But the mind evolves, and humanity is capable of living in a society with no hierarchies. Equality for Socialists is not everyone is seen the same, other than all humanity having the same liberty, but every individual being allowed to develop their own innate abilities, skills, talents. If the men were found better at hunting, and women as child bearers were better off at home, that did not mean the men were above women, or that women had a lesser influence upon the community. Men did not rule over women. Again most primitive societies had great respect of maternal figures, perhaps seeing strength in the birthing of children. The point is in the communities there was no ruler, folk settled disputes, or taken to the elders or matriarch to help, and goods or resources shared among the community. The earliest civilization to arise with definable social hierarchies instituted within the society were Sumerian, when the agricultural revolution gave birth to a priestly class who maintained the surplus and soon lugal kings. As humanity developed, it’s inclinations are towards freedom. Classless Stateless autonomy under Libertarian Socialism principles is the most far left ideology for a reason. The Libertarians and Anarchists that followed Classical Liberalism look towards a free world of voluntary free associations based on mutual aid and Socialist values. Not all Socialism is Statist or Marxist-Leninist. Socialism gave rise to anti-authoritarianism, also called Libertarianism (not the US Capitalist kind) and also known as Anarchism. Which despite what people believe doesn’t mean chaotic disorder and no rules.

B) Socialism has many strain and gave birth to anti-authoritarianism as Libertarian Socialism aka Anarchism C) You need a history lesson. Libertarianism refers to Anarchism, the anti-Statist branch of Socialism. Libertarian Socialism is against the State, Capitalism, and all forms of hierarchy. Socialism isn’t against Markets depending on the school, but it is against Capitalism which is but one kind of economy that works within markets. Capitalism is not synonymous with Market Economy. Adam Smith and David Ricardo influenced Socialists. Classical Liberals like Rousseau and John Stuart Mill advocated Socialism. Mill preferred worker’s cooperatives over bourgeois Capitalist structures. D) Socialists were the first to call themselves Libertarian. Proudhon a Libertarian Socialist coined Anarchism in the modern political sense. And Joseph DeJaques an Anarchist Communist was the first to coin the term Libertarian. E) US right wing Capitalists took the term Libertarian to distinguish themselves from Modern Liberalism. F) Those matriarchs, elders, chiefs weren’t controlling rulers. They were respected figures, but they made no laws or ruled like kings or politicians. They were peacekeepers. Back then people roamed the land free and settled where they could, a sentiment shared by Jefferson a freedom of humanity.
