  1. Dave Sackenheim stop bullshitting. Democrats were the Conservative party, it’s why the South was Democrat before FDR’s modern liberalism and the Civil Rights era. Ever wondered why Southern States are now Republicans? Because there was an ideological shift, and the conservative South whether Democrats or Republicans were conservative. They took reigns of the Republican Party after the Democratic Party moves towards Keynesianism and social progressivism. You know it’s bullshit when in reality Lincoln’s Party was the party of modernization, urbanization, Northern industrialists, and economic nationalism. Republicans were National Federalists, they believed in Federal supremacy. None of that describes the modern Republicans. The country was always ideologically divided in the urban North and rural South.
