@MichaelAChristian1 lol King James. You mean the translated and transliterated version from a European kingdom. The Bible is interpreted however people want, hence there is no one united faith or Church.

@MichaelAChristian1 hey genius the flood existed as a mythological tale before the kingdom of Israel or Moses' time. Sumerian texts already had those tales in their religion. And Mosaic law is clearly inspired by Hammurabi's code. It's all just the Hebrew culture continuing their Semitic roots.

Some can't even handle that early Christian sects were socialist communities. That's not even a promotion of socialism as a Jesus approved method of distribution or economic model, just the facts.Truth is there is no cohesive, untouched, for certain interpretation to the Bible. Otherwise you wouldn't have so many denominations of the faith. Therefore just admit it's up for interpretation and has no place in political discussions.

@pooperscoop54321 But a woman was given authority by God's priest to drink bitter water and have an abortion for she was impregnated by someone not her husband. Besides Mosaic law were inspired by Hammurabi's Code

@pooperscoop54321 it's not but it didn't ban all abortion as well. And besides since Christians believe the New Testament did away with the Old, well they still have trouble doing what Jesus preached. Jesus was a Jewish reformer and took the social justice to new levels for gentiles as well as Jews. Hence all those socialist, brotherhood, and love for fellow man was all part of his reformed religion. Yet the Church at it's earliest stages began to diminish women's power within the Church, even though they were early leaders and organizers, and soon Christianity began to resemble something that wasn't even original intent. The New Testament was even use as anti-Semitic propaganda go figure. It's not like it's founder was Jewish. Goes to show you people will interpret whatever justifies their ideology.

JB JG It means it's not opposed to abortion under certain circumstances. Besides Mosaic law was clearly inspired by the Code of Hammurabi. God allowed slavery and crap, or Mosaic law did, and thus the justification for the enslavement of non-Christians. The Bible is ancient laws and culture, though the Hebrews/Jews were a bit more socially aware than other cultures of the time. Still they weren't liberals ideologically speaking. Jesus was a reformer and took the message of social justice to new levels, for Jews and Gentiles. Too bad those that came to follow him spat at his teachings and interpreted things to their benefit. It's just the nature of religion as political power.
