After 8 years of total devastation done by the previous government and their president Poles got pissed off and went to election in unprecedented number of 75% vs 60s and 50's for the previous 30 years. 11.5 million have voted for democratic opposition while the regime got again the same 7.6m. Now new government starts the cleaning. Full story. The previous regime screams to retain their power and benefits for as long as possible, and they do it by continuing to mislead and winding up a lower educated population. Let me add that previous government, together with Orban=Putin=Lepen, were leaders in screwing up the EU. Stories regarding their corruption will still need to be legally exposed, but there are 1000s of cases exposed by media over the last 8 years. In order to be untouchable, they made deep changes to polish legal system and tried to seal it with 100s of regulations. Sure, it is challenging for the new ones to fight it with much law poised by previous. Voters are fine with some shorting in order to settle Poland on solid, european rules without wasting years on dealing with post autocratic mess. Last, the polish legal system was so devasted that EU stopped providing eu funds since several years. We talk 150 billions level. Imagine what government is not picking such money, preferring to keep the grip on the legal system? Of course, those seeking preservation of autocracy to gain enormous private wealth.
