  1. Would you be okay with you and I playing a game of Go Fish where I keep all of your stuff if I win and you keep all of your stuff if I lose? It's a little one sided isn't it? You're right about not trusting sources though. One thing we can be quite certain of is that russian losses are at least 5-10 times higher because of terrible tactics / meatwave assaults. The russians have a well documented history of having little to no value in human life.

But I am fully in favor of stopping maniacal murdering totalitarian dictators from trying to rule the world like Hitler, and now Putin. Tell russia to stop the war. Ukraine is defending itself, and we should help them by giving them the weapons we built in the 1980s that are at the end of their shelf life. As for valuing human life, sure, the US can do better. But we are nowhere even remotely close to russia, and I'm pretty sure you know that.

The people who are being invaded hate russia and will disrupt it any way they can. 2) Invading forces always lose more soldiers because it is harder to attack than defend. 3) russia uses meat wave attack where they send thousands of untrained soldiers to die, hoping Ukraine will run out of bullets. 4) russsia has terrible logistics which depend on rail and there are shortages of everything. 5) russia has a population advantage and they have no value for human life.

I'm sure you know that it is notoriously difficult to estimate losses since true numbers are a very tightly held secret on both sides and there is an enormous incentive to make up numbers for propaganda reasons and for the morale of soldiers. I don't trust what the BBC says because at best they can only estimate - and they also estimated that russia would conquer Ukraine in a short time. I trust the numbers that Ukraine provides for the numbers of russian KIA, with the understanding that it's going to be overestimated. The numbers they provide at least appear somewhat realistic. russia, on the other hand claims more than Ukraine ever even had, and they have a long history of lying to the point of absurdity. Putin wins elections by 98% after all.

To prove my point, look in the US news and every day you'll see the press being critical of the government. In russia there is no such thing. In the USA you can hold a banner in front of the white house that criticizes the government. In the red square if you did that, you'd go to prison for 15 years.

I think they want everything in the USSR back, along with the satellites like Poland, Hungary, Serbia, etc. They have been testing NATO's resolve for quite some time, (Georgia, Crimea) while simultaneously attempting to dissolve it from within via election meddling (the list here is endless, but Hungary, USA, etc.) They clearly still believe they will win in Ukraine, even with billions in NATO equipment on Ukraine's side. russia still hopes the West will get bored and distracted so they can take all of Ukraine, then Moldova. russia is already becoming a Stalin-era totalitarian dictatorship cranking up its war machine. In 5-10 years they'll be sending Moldovans into the baltics in their meat wave attacks. They haven't really changed their playbook in over a hundred years. It was stupid for the West to give russia a chance to participate in the civilized world in the 90s. We bankrolled this whole mess.

When I was there as recently as 2019, half of the television shows and songs on the radio were in russian. They did remove the russian language from the curriculum in public schools. Do you know why they did that? Because russia sent its army into Crimea and stole it. russia also sent their army into Donetsk and Luhansk and pretended it was just rebels. russia said they weren't sending weapons but they were. Nobody was killed for speaking russian. Hell, half of the Ukrainian army speaks russian! Do you know why they speak russian? It's because half of Ukraine was starved to death in the 1930s by Stalin, and then russian farmers were sent in to replace them. Your boy putin loved stalin.
