@nabagaca No, you aren't forced to install crowdstrike, but you are forced to install Windows updates, and new versions of Windows. I hate that.

@nabagaca I guess my point is - I think Microsoft should not allow ANY software to be installed without the user's permission. The buck stops with them because the OS controls everything.

@nabagaca Microsoft does have control of the file system and permissions to add or execute files, but you're right - at some point things have to be allowed to happen. I think this case proves that maybe kernel code should have tighter reigns of control on updates. This scenario should never have been allowed to happen and there should have been layers upon layers of protection.

@ReptilianLepton Oh wow, really? MS is legally obliged to allow updates. Do you know this for a fact? If so, I'll transfer my ire to the EU.

@ReptilianLepton By the way, I'm a software developer in the aerospace industry and this looks sloppy as hell. You wouldn't want to be on an aircraft that allowed this nonsense.
