Hello Professor Gerdes. I watch all of your videos, and I appreciate hearing the perspective of a conservative Republican, even though I think your party is a clown show... Anyway, I really like the quote from Feynman, but you're not practicing what you're trying to preach here. If anything, I see you bending over backwards to apologize for your own party's insanity. You should be bending over backwards to be critical of your own views if you want to use the Feynman quote. I'm an independent voter, and the myriad frustrations I have with the left are eclipsed 100 times over by the exceptional moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the right. When you don't call out the bad apples of your own party, you are giving them space to thrive. It is YOU, as a conservative Republican, who should be convincing other Republicans of their foolishness on lack of support for Ukraine. They won't listen to anyone that doesn't have an R next to their name. Mike Johnson, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, etc. are so clearly Kremlin stooges, they need to be called out - and called out by Republicans. Instead you're saying, "it's just political games". Come on. This is the most worthless House of Representatives our country has ever seen and you know it. Be critical of your party. They deserve it.

I struggle with this as well... Two years ago, I stuck to the "but not all russians" mantra. The thing is though, russia keeps invading its neighbors for land conquest over and over again. It's not just putin. There have also been at least 3 government structures there that, without fail, continuously invade neighbors for conquest. It's not just communism or whatever government structure you prefer to blame. Something is in the water there. It keeps happeneing. Fewer people would be hurt if russian people or russian soldiers turned against their government or commanders, but yet they don't. Now it's the rest of the world's problem. I DO blame ordinary russians. Sure, they are brainwashed, but that is not an acceptable excuse. Didn't we already run through this philosophy argument after the holocaust? If I recall, it was generally concluded that evil thrives when good people do nothing. All Germans in the 1930s had at least some blame. If you keep picking boogeyman scapegoats, this shit will keep happening. No, I firmly assert that ALL russians are at least partly to blame for this.

@user-ke1vk7vq9f Ukraine looks pathetic to you? Wow. So, doesn't it look pathetic for russia, the second most powerful country in the world with a huge navy, air force, army, enormous stockpile of weapons from the USSR to be losing so badly to Ukraine, its tiny neighbor? Oh, and now russia is a pariah state with a failing economy, failing infrastructure, embarrassing itself day after day with kremlin lies and absurd takes on eastern European history. It wasn't long ago that russia could sell weapons to other countries but now that the world sees how worthless they are against western weapons, nobody wants them anymore. Kinda pathetic, huh? I could go on and on. And yes, I AM free to have an opinion. Over in russia, you get sent to prison for having an opinion if it isn't the same opinion as daddy little-pen1s putin. But you think Ukraine is pathetic for asking for weapons from the west while russia asks for weapons from iran and north korea? Okay, Ivan. :) You win! You smarty pants!

I completely agree. Comparing Ukraine vs russia and Israel vs Hamas is just wrong on so many levels. Let's see, by population alone, Ukraine is more than 4 times larger than Israel, so right off the bat, we should be supporting Ukraine with 4x the resources. Next, Israel is a wealthy country and Ukraine is a poor country, so Ukraine needs more help. Then we have the fact that we've been pumping money and weapons into Israel for decades, so they've got a huge head start - another reason to support Ukraine more. Also, russia is 100x more formidable of a foe than Hamas, even with backing from Iran. Lastly, the consequences of russia defeating Ukraine are another world war, possibly nuclear. The way I see it, for every $1 we send to support Israel, we should be sending $100 to Ukraine. And even that is a low number in my opinion.

@KulaGGin I disagree. I think they want everything in the USSR back, along with the satellites like Poland, Hungary, Serbia, etc. They have been testing NATO's resolve for quite some time, (Georgia, Crimea) while simultaneously attempting to dissolve it from within via election meddling (the list here is endless, but
Hungary, USA, etc.) They clearly still believe they will win in Ukraine, even with billions in NATO equipment on Ukraine's side. russia still hopes the West will get bored and distracted so they can take all of Ukraine, then Moldova. russia is already becoming a Stalin-era totalitarian dictatorship cranking up its war machine. In 5-10 years they'll be sending Moldovans into the baltics in their meat wave attacks. They haven't really changed their playbook in over a hundred years. It was stupid for the West to give russia a chance to participate in the civilized world in the 90s. We bankrolled this whole mess.

@leeali4096 Okay, have a nice day. All I did was ask for an example of a billionaire who didn't get rich from daddy first (Musk, Trump), or experience an enormous stroke of luck with timing (Gates, Bezos, Musk) or swindle people with lies and assholery (Theranos, Musk, Trump). Just one example. Instead you post a BS statistic that addresses only one of the criteria, and comes from a source that is literally lifting money off of wannabes who think that if they call themselves an entrepreneur, they'll be the next billionaire. But yeah, have a nice day. You're right and I'm dumb, I guess.
