@winmen5279 so what was Einstein's mistake? it could be both their mistake. the professors not having the right metrics, and maybe Einstein not doing enough to stand out. your bitcoin example is pretty bad. bitcoin is the same as it was 10 years ago. also bitcoin isn't growing only now. it basically has been growing for all this time. so it's disingenuous to say it's like rolling the dice

@winmen5279 well your assumption seems to be that there isn't a better metric and that therefore it would be like predicting the future. i can't tell you what that metric is supposed to be because i'm not a professor. but that doesn't mean that the current system (or the one in Einstein's time) is the best system there will ever be. however i know from experience that it's not good to motivate people by just drilling steps into their head. the fact that he was trying doing experiments differently could also point insufficient explanations by his professor. it's a 2 way street

@winmen5279 if i can't come up with a metric right now, then does that mean that there is none? i'm not a professor. however it's a 2 way street. Einstein wanting to do things differently could be a sign that the professor didn't explain things enough (which i know could also be de-motivating from personal experience)
