@Settiis so you are saying that a totalitarian state is the only alternative to capitalism? no you first
5
he sounds more like a business guy. i think he completely side stepped the topic of interpreting user feedback
4
what is the difference between a computer doing something and software doing something? this looks like an infinite regress
4
@ogbrosephstalin is this a reference to something Wolfram said?
3
@scottmcmahon7209 it sounds to me like you are using "computer" to refer to software
2
yes it is concerning, and it's also inherent in the way artificial neural networks (the underlying technology) work. it's basically a black box
2
@apptouchtechnologies3722 agreed. but i don't put it past some jackass to do built such a system without control. just like there are software virus writers now. doesn't mean they will "win" of course. but it is a threat
2
you can't have useful software, without humans in the loop
2
@kumoyuki Wolfram i bet
2
misandry! it's not a good joke. imagine a guy making a similar joke, pointing in the direction of chopping up a woman's of body parts
2
@josephk6136 you said it yourself "at least in a traditional sense". i don't see humans being out of the loop
1
even for a product designer, it's not that good
1
@momentary_ that's one of the problems with these Large Language Models. it's a black box that they are still researching how it works. there is essentially no code. aside from that "well being" is rather vague and does not easily translate directly to computer code. you might be able to instruct it about "well being", but that does not mean that it will listen the way you would want
1
@moofymoo but is that ultimately for humans?
1
@thesamplecorner you don't learn what all of Lex's guest have to say, by just attending any class at uni. the topics are too vast for that
1
@soulcapitalist6204 i think it depends on how you use that information
1
@K_dyub isn't that limited to simple models?
1
when the work you build on top of and the work you have to continue is done right, then it's neither boring or frustrating. but of course you first need to be comfortable with code to a basic degree
1
that's not a fair comparison. it's better to imagine what would happen if it's inputs and outputs were connected a robot. i'm not saying it's AGI though
