well said. i would almost say that you could actually tell them what you found bad about the interview, but it's probably better to not burn bridges

agreed. deadlines on the job pretty much never that time constrained

@Baby4Ghost that's good advice. it's hard to imagine that them doing their job is not the norm, but i believe it because i've been left in similar situations, with them leaving really vague requirements and then immediately going on a holiday. but if they admit that they are not done yet like you said, then i wouldn't be taking the heat for it.

@darylphuah i don't even think it's necessarily about social skills. it's more about your ability to communicate ideas (which you also mentioned). "social skills" sounds way too vague and broad for me, like it includes people impressing each other at parties. when all you really need besides good communication is having good manners

@darylphuah i mean that in a business setting, social skills have a lower bar for entry. to impress a room with social skills as you said is great, but i think it is not something that every employee needs to be able to do. i feel similarly about building a rapport in a business setting, that it could just mean building familiarity and being reliable. we are talking about the minimum in a business context

@Sammysapphira sound like he doesn't know how to judge what the right place is for those practices

@x0rn312 not doing well and having a bad experience often go hand in hand

no. only if it's actually part of the job

@vitalyl1327 that's not what i mean. i'm making the distinction between jobs that do and jobs that don't require the such an analyses
1
@vitalyl1327 if you see all programming as algorithms, then there are still degrees. to how much knowledge of algorithms are required
1
that's kind of the problem. to ask, you have to already know that there is a problem
