@carro-from-heaven he's correct. it would actually be strange if updates were the only thing that are exempt from tinkering

@doigt6590 i was mainly reacting to your use of the term "families who are super zeroes with computers". more experienced people also have a bad user experience on Linux. it's not so much the user's fault as it is the Linux application and system writers' fault

@gruntaxeman3740 i get that there are graduations in how much user involvement is required in managing a Linux system, depending on the distro and release cycle. however, that does not automatically make those that require relatively less involvement to require little involvement. i'm not referring to Android or ChromeOS. those have their own ecosystem of apps, and we just happen to know that they are built on top of Linux. but they could have been built on top of anything else. i'm obviously talking about desktop Linux

@gruntaxeman3740 there are a couple of common cross platform applications, but i disagree with Linux using almost the same applications. regardless, setting up the same application is typically not easier on Linux
